Protecting the Ocean,
Empowering Fishing Communities
Current Priorities
-
Common-sense fishery management
We believe in precautionary approaches to management and policy so future generations can Fish On. We work to inform fishing communities with the latest science on our favorite species and advance policies to support the long-term health of our fisheries.
-
Clean water
Clean watersheds upstream are essential to the health of our coastal ecosystems and fisheries. We believe in everyone’s right to clean water and are supporting efforts to safeguard California's water resources and address pollution.
-
Equitable access
Whether we’re fishing, or just enjoying the ocean, everyone deserves access to a healthy ocean, abundant fisheries and thriving coastal ecosystems. By advancing policies to support subsistence and other marginalized fishing communities, we can improve ocean and fishery health for everyone’s benefit.
-
Restoring ecosystems through protection
Fishing and marine protections are not at odds. We believe meaningful area-based approaches to managing the ocean, like marine protected areas, can help restore the historical abundance of our ocean and ensure our fisheries are resilient to climate change.
